Sunday, May 15
Is it any wonder that we ‘re turning into a nation of lard arses, given 21st century food culture?
At a stubborn 16 stone I know I can talk.
But I have my limits. I would never think about eating that Glaswegian favourite, the deep-fried pizza, or sampling such Southern U.S. delights as the Luther Burger (a bacon-double-cheeseburger in a donut sandwich) or the Ham Dog (a hot dog wrapped in a beef burger that's deep fried, covered with chili, cheese and onions, served on a bun and topped with a fried egg).
I have long lost my taste for sugar sandwiches, condensed milk from a tube, and a fistful of Maryland Cookies with my tea, and I've not touched a doner kebab in more than a decade. Honest.
I certainly won't be treating my family to the following gourmet selection, which is on special offer at a local eatery.
Never mind the quality, feel the width: 1 large pizza, 2 quarter pounders, 1 large doner kebab, a bag of chips, and a litre bottle of coke for £15. Bargain bucket or what! Top chav value!
